Animal Masks:

Within out teaser trailer we decided that the use of animal masks will be effective. Such ideas came from films such as 'You're Next' where the killers use them in order to conceal their true identities. However in out trailer we have decided that instead the victims will wear animal masks, to in fact dehumanise them and create them in a more vulnerable, helpless light. Helping to play of the audiences further, acting as an emphasis of their mistreatment, almost as if animals in a slaughter house.

 

For this task I ordered a realistic, haunting looking pig masks off amazon in order to have a good, effective base for my task. I then used fake blood, liquid latex, scissors, and numerous other makeup products in order to alter it and make it look suitable for a horror film.

For inspiration not only did i look at 'You're Next' I looked at masks from films as saw, which included a rather scary looking pig mask.

Conclusion:

• To conclude i believe that the pig mask looks very effective, it gives an eerie animalistic feel to the killer.
• The liquid latex and fake blood, and other makeup made the mask look much more sinister and suitable for our genre.
