Film Poster:
Here is our finished film poster:
For this film poster I contributed through taking the photo. I took the photo of the pig mask with blood dripping off of it. This required me to consider a lot of things for example one of the first things I had to consider was ensuring that it was the correct lighting. The correct lighting had to be considered in order to make the poster effective as it helps to convey the genre. The lighting had to match the other side of the face that another member of my group took the photo of. This had to be done to ensure that the photo matched on both sides and was also clear. This is because the photo is an important part of the poster as it is the first thing that is seen and therefore it needs to be suitable for the genre and this requires the lighting to be appropriate when the photo is taken in order for it to work on the poster when it is put onto the poster. therefore when i took the photo i ensured that the lighting was rather dark as the other photo that was taken the other side was done in a dark environment however i ensured that the features of the pig mask were still able to be seen as this is an essential part of the film trailer and therefore the viewers of this poster should be able to see this clearly and note it is important. The dark lighting that is used surrounding the pig mask photo of the killer that i took is effective because it helps to convey a horror genre as dark colours and lighting are commonly used in order to help convey the genre of a horror film which has the conventions of mystery and darkness therefore this is why I chose this particular lighting. The lighting over the pig mask however is lighter in order for the pig mask (the killer) to be able to be seen in order to convey its importance and significance to the viewers.
Also on our poster I made the tagline which is at the top and says 'Welcome To The Monkey House'
Lastly on our poster I also made the critics and date. For the date however I made the font and another member of the group added on the blood effect.
