Storyboard First Draft

1st Draft of Storyboard

As we have not finalised many details of our trailer yet, my first draft is a very rough outline and does not include specifics of every shot that we will probably include in our final trailer. 

The first shot is of a girl holding up cards, reminiscent of the ones seen in YouTube suicide videos which people use to explain their story. The card will say something such as "This is why.." etc. to indicate that she is already nearing the end of the cards. Post-filming, we will edit the shot to look grainy as if it's filmed on a webcam, as filming directly from a webcam may result in detrimental quality loss. The sound will also be diegetic but amplified, such as loud breathing, to create a sense of realism. After this scene, there will be a title screen which will introduce the viewers to the concept of the deep web as well as shots from deep web style videos we will make ourselves. 

We will then see the main character in a typical teenage bedroom, dark with the laptop lighting up their face. Using screen-capturing software such as Bandicam, we will capture direct footage from my laptop of a chat box inviting them to click a link. The light on their face will change from white to red, indicating a red room. On the screen, the text "Welcome to the Monkeyhouse" with soft carnival music playing in the background. After a pause, a violent video will begin playing and the main character will slam the laptop shut. 

A second title screen, which we have yet to discuss, will then be shown followed by more clips from our homemade deep web videos. We will then see a shot of a man entering a shed full of weapons covered in blood, which will be the same as seen in the video on the laptop earlier. 

We will see a shot of the man slamming the shed door closed, but as the slamming noise happens, the shot will cut back to the main character who will turn their head as if they have just heard the slamming noise. Finally, the trailer will be cyclical as the final shot is of the main character holding up the cards again, except this time from the start, which will imply the film will explain how they got into this situation.
